School and Career Readiness

Every child and young person deserves a strong foundation for future success.

To ensure children ages 0-5 have a strong start in school and life, we invest and support quality childcare centers and home visitation programs. High-quality early learning environments are rooted in early childhood development, provide intensive parenting support, and build social-emotional and literacy skills.

To ensure youth are prepared for life after high school, we elevate career development, invest and support mentoring and training programs beyond academics, fund after-school programs and camps, align pathways with regional and statewide workforce priorities, and connect youth to volunteer service opportunities.

We support educators and early learning organizations through advocacy by addressing and correcting regional inequities, regularly convene early childhood educators, support youth development staff, and lead a regional cross-sector advisory group on early childhood.
