She/her/hers

Karrie has been the marketing and communications point person at Berkshire United Way since July 2019. Originally from Hudson, NY, she moved to the Berkshires in 2018 and has been building a life with her husband, a Lee native, and nearly 16-year-old cat.

A graduate of Hudson High School, she earned an Associate of Arts from Sage Junior College of Albany and a bachelor’s degree in literature and communications from Pace University in Westchester County.

Karrie’s career started at the Register-Star in Hudson (following a successful internship there). Following a brief stint as a reporter, she moved on to pagination and then spent the next 15 years in various pagination and editing roles within the newspaper conglomerate. She spent the last nine years with the company as managing editor of the weekly Chatham Courier. Between her time at the paper and Berkshire United Way, she was a writer in the marketing and communications department at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.

Karrie has been a member of the Northern Columbia County Rotary Club since 2010, having served as president and assistant governor, and currently as secretary. She has also been a board member of the Friends of Lindenwald (home of President Martin Van Buren) since 2017 and serves as the public relations chair. She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Columbia County and sat on the steering committee for several years. In May 2024, she graduated from the Berkshire Leadership Program.

She is proud to work for an organization that connects her to her late father, who 25+ years ago, served on the board for the United Way in Columbia County for several years and spoke highly of the work it did in the community.
