Who We Are
Our mission is to transform the lives of adult learners, both immigrant and U.S.-born, through the power of literacy, education, and advocacy.
What We Do
LitNet provides free, individualized, one-on-one instruction in reading, high-school equivalency test preparation, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and citizenship test preparation. Our professional staff and trained team of volunteer tutors offer generalized educational support and promote access to a network of community resources.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Literacy Network of South Berkshire provides 1:1 tutoring to Berkshire area U.S.-born and immigrants in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL); basic adult education, including support in preparation for a high equivalency test (GED/HiSet); and support on the path for becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen.
No teaching experience is necessary. Individual coaching, training, and support provided. The basic expectation is 1 hour per week. Tutoring provided virtually and/or in person.
