Who We Are
Barrington Stage Company has earned an unparalleled reputation for producing Broadway-caliber theatre in the heart of the Berkshires.
With game-changing productions such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, On the Town and American Son, BSC has become a nationally recognized theatre known for outstanding plays and musicals, including 36 world premieres, 19 of which have moved on to play in New York, regional theatres and even Netflix!
What We Do
Barrington Stage Company’s Playwright Mentoring Project (PMP) is a theatre program for young people ages 13-19 who have stories to share and things to say. Groups meet once a week from October-April. No prior theatre experience is required! Together your group will create and perform an original play based on stories and experiences from your own lives. A stipend will be paid to those who participate.
Volunteer Opportunities (age 13+)
Check-in volunteers will stand at the outside entrances to the theater and, while maintaining social distancing, check off patrons waiting in line on a clipboard, communicate to the host the next patrons’ seat locations, and let the patrons know when it is their turn to be sat by the host volunteers.
Host volunteers will, while maintaining social distancing, show patrons to their seats in the theater.
Sometimes BSC sends out a mailing to several people and we need help to get it to people’s mailboxes as soon as possible.
Interested in the history of BSC and/or think it’s important to maintain historical documents? If so, helping with our archives may just be the task for you!
To give our family a warm welcome, we put together baskets with some of the essentials they might need to increase their experience of the Berkshires!
Transportation volunteers assist BSC with picking up and dropping off our visiting artists to one of the four major transportation hubs: the Amtrak Train Station in Hudson, NY; the Metro North Train Station in Wassaic, NY; the Albany International Airport or the Bradley International Airport.
Gardening volunteers help with various landscaping needs for our Blatt Center and the Octagon House to keep the grounds looking seasonal and fresh.
