Virtual option to benefit Berkshire United Way, Berkshire Humane Society
The 45th annual Josh Billings RunAground Triathlon is back in person this year along with the return of the 2nd annual Virtual Josh.
The triathlon takes place Sunday, September 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Price Chopper parking lot in Great Barrington. The virtual Josh, which can be entered anytime now through September 19, will benefit the Berkshire Humane Society (BHS) and Berkshire United Way (BUW).
“I’m excited that the Josh can be held in person again. Last year, we were able to pivot to a virtual race, which allowed registrants to participate in any activity over the course of several weeks and wherever they wanted. The virtual Josh helped raise over $21,000 for the Berkshire Humane Society and Berkshire United Way,” said Patty Spector, organizer of the Josh. “This year, there is still the option to participate in the Virtual Josh by selecting BHS or BUW with a corresponding activity. I do, however, look forward to seeing Josh participants in person on September 19.”
Virtual Josh participants will receive a special edition 2021 T-shirt and are encouraged to share pictures on the Josh, BSH and BUW social media pages.

“There is an important need to support local nonprofits, especially as we’re not out of the woods yet with this pandemic, and we hope the community will support these two essential Berkshire community organizations with the same enthusiasm as if you were participating in the live Josh event,” said Spector.
