Pre-Prom Pregnancy Prevention Health Fair
Date: May 4, 2012
“Sex has consequences.” That’s the message Berkshire United Way’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative plans to share at its Pre-Prom Pregnancy Prevention Health Fair on May 4, 2012, from 5p.m. – 8p.m. at the Berkshire Mall Center Court, just outside the J.C. Penney interior mall entrance.
Local health and human service organizations, such as Tapestry Health (tapestryhealth.org) and Community Health Programs (communityhealthprograms.org), will be present to share information and answer questions regarding teen health, empowerment, and positive life choices during the coming prom season and beyond. Prom-related raffles will be offered to attendees and Youth Alive will be performing.
Designed to attract and assist teens of both sexes who may be shopping for prom or other clothing and accessories, the fair coincides with the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, held on Wednesday May 2, 2012. Now in its 11th year, the National Day Campaign encourages teens to take the National Day Quiz on the StayTeen.org website, which challenges teens to think about the consequences of sex and their actions in real life situations.
